Welcome to the virtual home of the Carolan String Quartet, a professional Dublin based ensemble
whose mission it is to craft beautiful musical memories and the perfect ambience for any
special occasion or event.
We take our name from Turlough O'Carolan the 17th century Irish composer and harpist whose
music is central to our hugely varied repertoire.
About Us
The Carolan String Quartet comprises four dynamic young professional musicians who love, and
are loved for, our work. We are each qualified to the highest standards of performance and,
in our own time, work with all of the Irish professional orchestras, ensembles and companies,
including RTE Lyric FM but we also enjoy playing traditional, pop, experimental and even rock music!
We happily facilitate special musical requests or event themes and, especially for the
soon-to-be-weds, we'll give you some complimentary cds from which to choose to music for your day.
Our Repertoire
With a repertoire ranging from Mozart to Van Morisson and Bach to The Beatles, and
that's constantly expanding because we also arrange a lot of music too, we can musically cater
for any type of event.
We play wedding services, drinks receptions, any kind of private party, formal or
informal and even marriage proposals. Yes, we've done it!
Corporate Events
Having performed for hundreds of corporate clients, such as VHI, the Irish Tourist Board,
Wicklow Enterprise Board, O2, we understand that the fundamental basis for performing for
these events is simple- professional perfection.
For corporate drinks receptions, dinners etc., we wear all-black formal attire and can
provide our own amplification should it be required. Our extensive repertoire
allows us to offer corporate clients specific musical themes for any event whether
strictly classical, Irish/Celtic, light jazz or contemporary pop.
